ELEMENTARY AT HERITAGE
Getting your little one off to a great start is vital in setting the tone and pace for your child's lifelong education journey. At Heritage Christian School, we understand how important your child's elementary education is, and we would love for you to take a few minutes to learn more about what we offer!
PRE-KINDERGARTEN
The Pre-K program at Heritage Christian School is based on a complete scope and sequence of concepts and skills needed to prepare a child to read. Sixty PACEs (2000 pages) filled with Bible and animal pictures, coordination development activities, and full-color picture stories that encourage a child to want to read. This is a non-graded, no-pressure year of learning for the Pre-K student.
Our Pre-K program inspires children to learn, teaches essential social and emotional skills, and fosters the development of verbal skills and self-control. Our Pre-K students are equipped to start their educational journey on the right foot.
KINDERGARTEN
Our Kindergarten program at Heritage Christian School consists of Kindergarten with Ace and Christi. Kindergarten with Ace and Christi is a full-year, five full days per week program based on a complete scope and sequence of concepts and skills needed to prepare a child to read. The student will also learn social skills, the wonders of God's world, and the reality of God's love. Once mastery of the concepts and skills is proven, the student will advance to ABCs with Ace and Christi which is a multi-sensory, phonetic reading program. Various activities have been designed to help each student in their physical and character development. This program is non-graded but has minimum requirements to move onto the next level.
In addition to academic skills, our kindergarten program emphasizes social and emotional development. For instance, students can be taught to talk to their peers and communicate with adults. This helps them develop empathy and improves their social and emotional intelligence. They can also become more independent and develop a sense of responsibility.
1st - 5th GRADE
Heritage Christian School uses the Accelerated Christian Education curriculum, which is proven to be effective in teaching all the basic academic disciplines as well as instilling Godly Character into the lives of our students. The A.C.E. program offers you an academic curriculum that includes skill building, goal setting, reading practice, and character building—all with strong Biblical integration!
Each core subject consists of 12 PACEs per level. However, students are not locked-stepped by these levels. Students who are more skilled may accelerate in their areas of academic strength, while those who find the material more challenging may take as long as necessary to complete it. Each student, while working at his own level of proficiency, will master the material.
Heritage Christan School maintains a standard of excellence in all academic subjects. Each student is required to have an 80% mastery of the required work before progressing to the next level.
